Darrell got a late start at riding bulls at the age of 26. After getting out of the United States Army he realized he would like to give bull riding a try. So with a little help from some friends and a lot of hard work Darrell became addicted to the sport. In 2006 won the True Grit award. Continuing to master the sport, in 2008 Darrell won the YGRA Year End Championship and Finals Reserve Champion. He also made the MRCA finals that same year. In 2009 he was the Reserve Champion for YGRA and won a few bull ridings across the country. In 2010 Darrell won the Ryan McConnell Invitational Bull Bash and made the MRCA Finals and was voted to be the MRCA Bull Riding Director for 2011. For 2011 Darrell's goals are to win both the MRCA Finals and Year End Championship, making the NFPB and BOA Finals. Finally he is working on getting his PRCA permit and making the Great Lakes Circuit Finals.
